John Trauth
Executive Vice President, Government Systems
As Executive Vice President of Government Systems at Merlin International, John Trauth is responsible for the company’s sales, partner alliances, marketing, program development, and business development in the government sector.
Trauth joined Merlin in 2003. With more than 20 years of experience in the government sector, Trauth has held executive-level sales and business development positions at BEA Systems, Oracle, Enterworks, Tektronix and others. Trauth’s experience in the government sector spans defense and civilian agencies, systems integrators, and commercial enterprises.
Prior to joining Merlin, Trauth was responsible for growing BEA’s Department of Defense business by more than 375% during his last year at the company. His group sold to defense and intelligence agencies such as DISA, Army, Air Force, Navy, Homeland Security and more, and accounted for 87% of BEA’s public sector revenue. Prior to BEA, Trauth held executive-level positions at Enterworks, Inc., a software company in Northern Virginia, where he developed and defined Enterworks’ sales strategy across both government and commercial territories. He consistently outperformed his quotas by securing major program wins in the government market.
Trauth began his career as a logistics analyst, assigned to the Fleet Logistics Support Program of the Submarine Engineering Department, which provided logistics management support to the Naval Sea Systems Command. He is a member of AFCEA (Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association). He graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. |
